One of the most important decisions you can make to build your business and your team is to look at how you are as a boss/employer.
Why? Because it is really important to find out why someone would want to work for or with you.
For example, your business is all about relationships. The relationship you have with your bank manager, your accountant, your suppliers, your customers and your team.
If you are not a good boss and make your working environment a pleasure to work in, then your team will not want to come to work, and your customers are not going to want to visit your salon or business.
So… it is time to reflect and work out who you are as a person, and why would someone want to work with you.
- Are you hard-working, yet understand the importance of work/life balance?
- Are you open to listening to your team member/s?
- Do you care about your team – do you take time to ask them about their personal lives?
- Do you sit down with them “one on one” to ask if they need any additional training or have any issues that need to be resolved?
There is an old saying in regard to marriages that a lot of men like to use… “Happy Wife, Happy Life”.
So, if you have a Happy Team, then perhaps you could have a Happy Business.
Just some advice… and by the way… the most important relationship you can have starts with you… make sure you look after yourself and care for yourself also, so you can look after your team and customers.
