Salon Manager (Senior Hairdresser)

- Lead our newly renovated salon into a new era with expert business management support from our owners, including paid for external business development courses. No management experience required – just a passion for growth and development.
- $35 to $45 per hour (permanent rate of pay) negotiable based on skills & experience & reviewed regularly + superannuation + generous allowances and commissions.
- MAJOR emphasis on work/life balance: Full time permanent role: Work 9-day fortnights, with every second Saturday off. Salon closed Sunday & Monday, and every second Saturday. Potential for NO WEEKENDS if preferred (after a 3-month qualifying period).
- Approximately 30% management duties and 70% on the floor (cutting, colour and styling).
Hours: Full time permanent.
Location: Edgar Street, Ainslie ACT (Canberra). Free onsite parking at the salon, and close to bus & light rail.

We pride ourselves on our customer service and making sure that every one of our clients feels special and looks fantastic! We are a well-established salon with a large, loyal clientele and a friendly, skilled and cohesive team of 3 Senior Hairdressers and 1 Apprentice. We offer all hair services including colour, cutting and styling.
Our space was renovated in January 2024, offering a light and airy space flooded with natural light and situated in the iconic Ainslie Shops.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is an outstanding opportunity to work closely with the local owners of the salon to lead our established team and grow with us. Our two owners own multiple salons and have strong backgrounds in business development across various industries. This role will include a high level of mentorship, support and training. The role will entail roughly 30% management duties and 70% on the floor (cutting, colour and styling).
Key management responsibilities include: managing staff and their development, stock management, client experience and business development, including online bookings and new customer service offerings.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
You will need to be a Senior Hairdresser, confident in all colour, cutting and styling services. Previous management experience is an advantage, however if you don’t have management experience but are eager to step up into a management role, are responsible, reliable, motivated and possess strong leadership qualities, then we would love to hear from you!
If you have an interest or background in marketing management and social media experience, or administration and office management this is a bonus but not essential.
